Can the coating plate in the ELISA kit be opened for use?

After breaking the strips apart, be sure to mark the side of each strip to avoid confusion of well positions. When preparing reagents, calculate the volume based on the actual number of wells, and do not repeatedly open the entire bottle of standard/antibody. During loading, if only some strips remain in a plate frame, it is best to secure the empty positions with used strips or tape to prevent shaking. When using saved remaining strips again, it is recommended to first run a standard curve to confirm whether the background and signal have significantly decreased; if the data are abnormal, discard them.

After removing strips, store the remaining strips in the original bag with desiccant, expel air as much as possible, seal tightly, and keep at 2-8°C. Generally, it is recommended to use them within 2-4 weeks; some manufacturers may label one month. Prolonged storage can cause the coated antibody/antigen to absorb moisture and become inactivated. It is not recommended to store pre-coated plates at -20°C, as condensation may occur and strips may separate from the wells. After each use, check the color of the desiccant; if it changes color, replace it promptly.

Most pre packaged boards are 8-piece detachable strips that can be disassembled for use. When disassembling, use clean tweezers to take the required number of strips from the board frame. Do not touch the bottom of the hole with your hands to avoid scratching or contaminating the package with antigens. Immediately put the remaining strips back into the original aluminum foil bag and do not expose them to room temperature for a long time. If the instruction manual indicates "non removable" or integrated board, it cannot be disassembled. Before purchase, let the sales staff take photos of the strip to confirm that it can be disassembled.

Nowadays, many domestic and imported products are designed with detachable strips, such as Lianke, Xinbosheng, Dakewei, and some R&D products have seen 8-piece detachable strips. Not all brands are guaranteed, just confirm with sales before placing an order or unpack after receiving the goods. The detachable strip 96T is suitable for more than ten samples, with 2-3 strips disassembled at once, 1 strip used for labeling, 1-2 strips used for samples, and the rest sealed. There is no need to separately find 48T for small samples. 96T can be disassembled for greater flexibility.
