Availability depends on the specific specifications. Common domestic Tecan-compatible tips in 1000 µL and 200 µL have a relatively high likelihood of being in stock, but when filter tips, sterile, DNase/RNase-free, and low-retention features are combined, they are sometimes split into different catalog numbers. The minimum order quantity is generally per case or per pack; for mixed batches, you can ask the supplier whether they support mixed-case shipping of 1000 µL and 200 µL. Volume pricing needs to be negotiated based on annual usage and is usually quoted in tiered pricing per case. Lead time for domestic in-stock items is 3–7 days; custom or imported original products may take 4–8 weeks. It is advisable to clarify whether tax is included, whether cold-chain or ambient transport is required, and door-to-door unloading, and not be misled by low bare-pack prices. If the previous leakage issue cannot be resolved, you can stipulate in the contract that returns or exchanges are allowed if the product fails on the instrument.

If switching to new tips, it is recommended to establish incoming inspection in parallel. Take tips from each incoming batch for seal integrity spot checks: load pure water or dye-containing solution, repeatedly aspirate and dispense at the set volume, and check whether the needle interface leaks or the filter wets out. Under automated high-throughput conditions, a low-probability leak can be amplified into whole-plate contamination, so it is recommended to spot check at least 3-5 boxes per batch, with particular attention to tips at the bottom and corners of the box. In addition, original Tecan-certified tips can be compared with leading domestic brands; certified consumables are expensive but offer good consistency, while domestic brands have the advantage of fast supply and low price but require time for verification. Be sure to confirm that the rack format matches the carrier, otherwise tip box ejection or instrument jamming may occur.

Don't just compare unit prices. For Tecan-compatible tips, you need to compare several hard metrics: dimensional tolerance reports, especially pinhole inner diameter and tip length; DNase/RNase/endotoxin testing certificates; whether low retention has undergone actual recovery rate testing; and whether irradiation sterilization batch numbers are traceable. You should also ask the manufacturer whether they have on-instrument compatibility cases for Freedom EVO or other Tecan models, and whether they can provide customer on-site validation records. Beyond price, look at packaging quality: whether it is anti-static, dust-proof individual box packaging, and whether the bottom of the box has reinforcing ribs to avoid deformation after high-density stacking. It is recommended to source from two to three suppliers at the same time, obtain samples of the same specifications for blind testing, and focus on leakage, residual liquid, and consistency of aspiration and dispensing.

I suggest not placing a large order directly. Ask the supplier to provide small samples or trial racks of each specification, and run 3-5 racks on the instrument for validation. On the Freedom EVO, focus on three points: first, the interference fit between the tips and the pins, with both 200ul and 1000ul tested separately; second, the filter position, to see whether it is pushed out or tilted during tip ejection; third, the rack positioning, to check whether gripping with the robotic arm is smooth when moved left and right. For low adsorption and DNase/RNase-free, do not rely only on certificates. It is recommended to perform a parallel recovery comparison using fluorescently labeled DNA or protein. Liquid leakage is often not due to the tips themselves, but rather excessive aperture tolerance causing poor sealing with the pins, so measure the tip aperture and ovality before running on the instrument.
