Monthly usage is 6 bottles. For delivery within two weeks, it is recommended to prioritize agents with domestic stock; BioInd and ExCell can usually meet this more easily. If imported original bottles require temporary customs clearance, the delivery schedule may be delayed. Before placing an order, confirm three things: whether multiple bottles are from the same lot number, whether a stamped COA and cold-chain temperature records can be provided, and whether they are willing to retain a reserve sample from the same lot. You can also include "advance notice of batch changes and return or exchange for quality nonconformity" in the procurement agreement. For first-time cooperation, validate with a small quantity first, and after stability is established, sign a quarterly or semi-annual framework to avoid one-time overstocking.

If you are primarily culturing umbilical cord MSCs, it is recommended to prioritize screening for product lines with validated data for MSCs or adult stem cells among BioInd, ExCell, and AusGene. BioInd's MSC-specific serum has relatively controllable batch-to-batch variation based on feedback from our network and peers; ExCell has advantages in domestic stock availability and pricing; AusGene's Australian origin can also be compared using COAs. Do not focus only on the brand—ask the distributor for the COA of the target lot, with key attention to endotoxin, hemoglobin, pH, and osmolality, and preferably with colony formation or induced differentiation data. Within a budget of 3000–5000 per bottle, prioritize channels offering original bottles, original packaging, and domestic refrigerated storage.

For serum replacement, it is not advisable to purchase an entire month's supply directly. First, ask the supplier to send 1–2 bottles as trial samples, and use the same batch of umbilical cord MSCs for parallel comparison under three conditions: old serum, candidate serum, and a 50/50 mixture of old and new serum. Observe adherence, morphology, doubling time, and surface markers over 48–72 hours. After arrival, first perform spot testing for sterility, endotoxin, and mycoplasma, and retain samples for cryopreservation. If cell morphology and proliferation rate can be maintained within two weeks, then place formal orders in batches. This can avoid the impact of batch-to-batch variation on experiments and also provide a basis for subsequent traceability.
